Epoxy Grout in Wet Areas: When It May Be Suitable
How epoxy grout differs from traditional grout and why preparation and application matter.
Start with the symptom
Epoxy grout is a high-performance joint material used in suitable wet-area and tiled applications. It is denser and behaves differently from traditional cementitious grout.
What the condition can mean
The existing joint condition, tile type, movement joints and preparation still matter. Epoxy grout is not a substitute for flexible sealant at movement joints and it does not correct every waterproofing defect.
Choosing the next step
Installation and cleaning technique are important because cured residue can be difficult to remove. The decision should be based on the application rather than simply choosing the strongest-sounding product.
